
Philip Klimek (born 2004)
Philip Klimek was born in Witten in 2004 and received his first piano lessons at the age of five. At the age of ten, he began his organ training with DKM Dr Christian Vorbeck, who taught him for nine years.
At the age of twelve, he was already regularly providing musical accompaniment for church services in his home parish in Witten. Later, he stood in for his teacher at the large Marienorgel organ, became an assistant organist and completed his C-level training in the Archdiocese of Paderborn.
In 2023, he successfully completed his Abitur (A-levels) in Witten and began studying Catholic church music at the Robert Schumann University of Music in Düsseldorf in the winter semester of the same year.
In addition, Philip Klimek is studying for a bachelor's degree in organ solo in the classes of Prof. Thierry Mechler and Prof. Dr. Markus Uhl at the Cologne University of Music and Dance. He is also training to become an organ expert.
He supplemented his musical education with studies in improvisation with Thierry Escaich in France and masterclasses with Vincent Dubois, Christophe Mantoux, Jean-Pierre Leguay, Hayo Borema, David Briggs, Guy Bovet, Hans-Ola Ericsson, Martin Sturm, Zuzana Ferjenčíkova and Sietze de Vries, among others.
